Gambling requires three elements: consideration, chance and prize. Even though different parties are involved in the gambling industry such as the government, businesses, etc., I'd like to focus on the consequences gambling has on the player himself.

However, how can we say winning at poker depends on whether you're lucky or not, if every year the world series of poker is played by the same people. Therefore, I came to the conclusion that Texas Hold’em requires some skills.

However, players should accept losing, because it’s part of the game. Phil Ivey, one of the best poker players in the world once said: «The more you play, the more experience you have, and the better you can adapt to situations ».
The ability to adapt to situations means winning, because poker strategies are continuously changing throughout time. Therefore, making money by playing poker is a long term process and it requires patience. Furthermore, most people play poker for the wrong reason, and harm themselves by doing so. Indeed, Negreanu, a Canadian poker champion advises new poker players to play for the beauty of the game, and not for the money.
